LOCAL HYDROPONIC AGRICULTURE
Designed by BLOOM PROJECT & DAFNAE, the prototype has as main purpose the realization of a hydroponic cultivation system, economically sustainable and with low technological input in order to be scalable in all developing countries.

Agritube is a project that is part of the simplified soilless cultivation systems sponsored by FAO. The setting up of this system differs from the current products offered by the market, which provide technical skills and costs that are difficult to tackle in rural contexts. On the contrary, alternative production solutions would improve the food vulnerability of the population where food insecurity and economic depression coincide.
Each module can grow about 120/240 plants in an area of 8/15 m2. The module, however, can be implemented in series to create a production unit for low-cost multi-family cultivation.
The use of water and the nutrient solution does not require
pressure, in fact they are distributed through the movement of the water falling, thus also limiting the hourly use of the pump, powered by solar energy, which can support multiple production units in line . System filling and emptying cycles guarantee the correct oxygenation of the root system, giving the plant both the homogeneity of irrigation and the regulation of the water level inside the cultivation tube.
The optimization of the resources, in fact, allows greater ductility of the system at the different phenological phases and seasonal changes that affect the water consumption of the plant.
